The JMHS Marching Ensemble performed “Break My Heart” in their first competition of the season, the Colgan High School Classic, on Saturday, September 21. In Class 5A Madison received first place for all caption awards, including: Best drum major, 1st place percussion, 1st place auxiliary, 1st place marching, 1st place general effect, and 1st place overall. They were also named Blue Division Championships (best of classes 4, 5, and 6) and Grand Champion of the entire competition. Way to go JMHS Marching Ensemble!
The next Marching Ensemble competition is the VMBC Herndon Showcase on September 28th.
The Marching Ensemble has three more competitions in October:
- October 5th – VMBC South County Competition
- October 19th – Band of America (BOA) Mid-Atlantic Regional, University of Delaware
- October 28th – VMBC State Championships, Liberty, University, Lynchburg, VA.
