Special Olympics Feet Meet on Friday, April 19th

Madison HS is hosting its 2nd annual “Feet Meet” for Special Olympics student athletes on Friday, April 19th and we need volunteers! To volunteer, you MUST SIGN UP at this link.

 

Madison is hosting a SPECIAL OLYMPICS FEET MEET for students across FCPS from preschool through high school on Friday, April 19th from 9:30am-12noon. There will be stations (similar to Field Day) and the following events:  25 M Races and 50 M Races including Wheelchair Races, Softball or Turbo Jab Throw and Standing Long Jump.  We currently expect over 300 athletes and partners – and will need volunteers to lead the stations and events as well as serve as “ambassadors” for visiting schools and our own team.  If you are a student, you will miss class (it is considered an in school field trip) but you will need to check with both your teachers and your parents to get their approval.

Here is our approximate timeline:

8:00am-9:30am Set up (volunteers needed!!) 

9:30am-10:30am Students arrive and activities and events commence 

10:45am Opening Ceremony 

10:50am- Athlete Oath

10:55am-Torch Run 

11:00am- Feet Meet resumes

12:00 – Conclusion
